The design process was driven by a desire to blend Venetian tradition and modern retail needs, focusing on:
Brand Integration and Thematic Clarity:
Early stages involved defining clear brand messaging that would resonate visually throughout the space, using typography, colors, and materials to reflect the shop’s identity and playful spirit.
Maximizing Product Presentation:
Given the importance of visually enticing displays in a shop selling ice cream and pastries, considerable effort was made to optimize the positioning and design of refrigerated cases, ensuring products remain the stars.
Material and Lighting Selection:
Materials were carefully chosen for their durability, ease of maintenance, and aesthetic appeal. The layered lighting scheme was planned to enhance product visibility, highlight architectural features, and create a welcoming, lively atmosphere.
Customer Flow and Spatial Planning:
The layout was arranged for intuitive circulation that guides customers naturally from entrance through product selection and payment, minimizing congestion and maximizing engagement with the displays.
Balancing Modernity with Playfulness:
Design choices reflect a balance between contemporary aesthetics and the joyful, indulgent nature of enjoying ice cream — achieved through the use of soft yet sophisticated colors, reflective surfaces, and interactive wall elements.

Decorative paneling and ribbed vertical elements offer architectural interest while supporting a bespoke typography installation that reinforces branding messages like “DONUTTO ICE CREAM COFFEE” and playful quotes. These elements provide a thematic coherence and an engaging visual narrative.
