Kelar Villa

Tehran-2025-Residential

Exterior
Situated amidst the dense forests and refreshing climate of Kelarabad, this villa is designed as a sanctuary that bridges the gap between indoor luxury and outdoor natural beauty. The architecture is defined by a striking, asymmetrical A-frame silhouette that captures the essence of a modern retreat.

Design Process

The design process for this Kelarabad villa was centered on the concept of “Organic Modernism”—creating a structure that is undeniably modern but feels like it belongs to the forest.
Contextual Analysis: The primary goal was to maximize the connection to the surrounding nature while maintaining privacy. Architects oriented the building to capture the best natural light and views, positioning the main living spaces to overlook the pool and the forest landscape.
Volumetric Exploration: The team experimented with the “A-frame” shape to maximize internal volume. By extending the roofline, they were able to create a covered, sheltered balcony for the upper level, providing an all-weather outdoor space that is sheltered yet open to the forest view.
Material Palette Selection: To prevent the building from feeling cold, the designers balanced the sharp, dark industrial materials with warm wood accents and abundant greenery. The dark exterior cladding acts as a “frame,” highlighting the lighter core of the home and mimicking the deep tones found in the surrounding woodland.
Integrated Landscape Design: The landscaping was not an afterthought; it was part of the architectural plan. The placement of the pool, the waterfall, and the stone-paved driveway was calculated to create a balanced composition. By using repeating patterns in the boundary walls and the paving, the design team achieved a sense of symmetry and order that grounds the more adventurous, asymmetrical geometry of the villa itself.

The Oasis Experience: The exterior space is meticulously curated. A private infinity-style pool with an integrated waterfall creates a relaxing atmosphere, while the surrounding timber decking, lush planters, and thoughtfully placed landscape lighting turn the garden into a private resort at night.
Privacy and Framing: The site is enclosed by high walls featuring a rhythmic pattern of dark stone and white panels, ensuring total privacy for the residents without feeling closed off from the environmen
