Residential Building
A Contemporary Urban Residence with Elegant Geometry and Human‑Centered Architecture
This residential building in Boukan, Tehran, is designed with a modern architectural language that blends clean geometry, subtle material contrasts, and functional aesthetics. The façade presents a refined rhythm of vertical and horizontal elements, creating a balanced and visually engaging composition well suited for its urban context.
Modern Façade Composition:
The elevation combines large glass panels with light-toned textured stone and dark cladding accents. This interplay of materials gives the building a contemporary identity while ensuring durability and timelessness.
Dynamic Balconies and Vertical Elements:
Carefully articulated balconies with integrated planters introduce greenery into the vertical profile, softening the façade and enhancing residents’ connection to nature. Vertical fins add rhythm and depth, improving both light control and privacy.
Large Transparent Surfaces:
Generous floor‑to‑ceiling windows allow abundant natural light into the interior spaces, promoting a bright, open, and healthy living environment. The reflective quality of the glass also contributes to a sleek, modern aesthetic.
Inviting Ground-Level Entrance:
The entrance is marked by warm wooden soffits, modern linear lighting, and a subtle landscape design that together create an elegant yet welcoming arrival experience.
Integrated Urban Landscape:
Planters and structured greenery are used across different levels, adding softness to the architecture and improving the building’s environmental performance by enhancing micro‑climate quality.

Design Process

The design process for this residential building was driven by a focus on aesthetic refinement, user comfort, urban integration, and long-term sustainability.
Site and Context Study:
The design team analyzed the urban fabric of Boukan, examining building scales, surrounding textures, sun orientation, and neighbor privacy. This informed the façade layout and window placement.
Concept Development:
The architectural concept centered on creating a modern façade that is both elegant and functional. The idea of layering materials and forms emerged to balance transparency with solidity.
Façade Material Selection:
Materials were chosen for durability, beauty, and harmony with neighboring structures. Light stone conveys purity and permanence, while dark cladding frames and glass surfaces introduce contrast and sophistication.
Balcony and Greenery Integration:
One major design priority was enhancing outdoor living. Balconies were shaped to be usable, comfortable, and visually cohesive. Built‑in planters were added to introduce vegetation as an architectural element.
Structural and Spatial Coordination:
The façade articulation was developed in parallel with interior planning to ensure natural light optimization, proper ventilation, and efficient structural alignment.
Refinement Through 3D Modeling:
The team used digital modeling to refine proportions, study shadow movement, and adjust material placement for best visual impact during different times of the day.
Finalizing the Entrance Experience:
Special attention was given to the ground floor, ensuring the entrance feels safe, recognizable, and architecturally pleasant with appropriate lighting and greener
