Nestled in the heart of Tehran’s financial and administrative hub, the Zafar executive suite for Karafarin Bank redefines the concept of the modern “Power Office.” The design is a sophisticated take on Neo-Classical elegance, creating an atmosphere of stability, authority, and meticulous attention to detail—values that are core to the banking identity.
Design Process
The design process for this project was driven by the objective to create a space that reflects Karafarin Bank’s reputation for trust and innovation. The journey was divided into four critical phases:
Conceptual Alignment: The initial phase focused on translating the bank’s corporate identity into a physical environment. The team chose a Neo-Classical direction to symbolize “Reliability” and “Growth,” ensuring the office feels both historic and forward-looking.
Materiality and Craftsmanship: Great emphasis was placed on the selection of materials. The designers sourced high-quality wood veneers, brass fixtures for the chandeliers and sconces, and premium leathers. Every piece of molding and every ceiling tile was custom-designed and rendered to ensure a perfect fit with the room’s proportions.
Spatial Zoning for Efficiency: The layout was meticulously planned to balance privacy with collaboration. The suite was zoned into three distinct areas: the Executive Core for focused work, the Formal Boardroom for strategic decision-making, and the Terrace Garden to promote mental well-being and provide a scenic backdrop for high-level hosting.
Lighting and Atmosphere Design: A multi-layered lighting strategy was implemented. Warm, ambient light from the brass chandeliers and wall sconces handles the “mood,” while hidden LED strips and professional track lights provide the functional brightness required for long working hours and video conferencing.

Material & Process
Architectural Woodwork (Boiserie): The walls are enveloped in rich, dark walnut-toned paneling with classical molding, providing a sense of warmth and permanence. This is beautifully contrasted by an intricate white coffered ceiling, which adds vertical depth and a sense of historic grandeur.
The Executive Sanctuary: The main workspace features a heavy, artisanal executive desk paired with a classic deep-green leather captain’s chair. Vintage-inspired maps and built-in library shelving behind arched niches create the aura of a private study or a distinguished gentleman’s club.

Seamless Integration of Technology: While the aesthetics are classical, the functionality is ultra-modern. The conference room integrates high-end audio-visual systems and track lighting into the ornate ceiling, while the executive desk is equipped for the digital needs of today’s banking leadership.
Biophilic Connection: Large floor-to-ceiling windows provide a physical and visual link to a private landscaped terrace. This transition from the structured, dark-toned interior to the airy, green outdoor space offers a refreshing environment for informal meetings or moments of reflection.
The Meeting Hub: The adjoining boardroom features a minimalist, monolithic meeting table and ergonomic white leather seating, proving that classical design can coexist with contemporary efficiency.
